Wrapping up our first unit of inquiry

Greetings Supporters!
We've had such a busy week that we've barely had time to blog!  Wednesday Larry and James were so pressed for time they didn't even have time to finish their entry!  A few updates...

Last week we had written a persuasive letter to our principal, Ms. N, requesting permission to dress down for our tree planting volunteer work on Wednesday 10/26.  We received a reply today that informed us that we may dress down.  Below is the full text of her reply!

Good afternoon Indiana University!

Thank you for your persuasive letter about the need to wear “dress down” clothes for the Tree Planting Ceremony next week.
I agree that it would be good to wear appropriate clothes for tree planting, so that your uniforms do not get dirty.
You have my permission to wear tree-planting clothes on October 26th.

A few things to remember:
·         Your tree-planting clothes must be appropriate for school.
·         Bring sweaters and jackets in case it is cold outside.
·         Your shoes must still cover your entire foot for safety.
·         If you have any questions about what to wear, please check with Ms. Dahl.
·         If you are having pictures taken for Makeup Picture Day, you must be in full uniform for pictures.
·         If you lose the privilege of participating in the Tree Planting Ceremony due to behavior, you must wear your full uniform.

Have a great weekend!

Ms. N

Today we also completed our videotaping of our broadcasts for our Natural Disasters Unit.  Monday and Tuesday we'll be reflecting over the work we've done throughout the past several weeks.  I am working to upload the videos to my Youtube channel and will be sharing the links over the weekend if I am able to upload them successfully!  I am so very proud of my student videographers and the scholars who created an impromptu, old school version of a teleprompter (someone holding their notes above the camera)!  Most importantly, I am very excited to share our upcoming project with each of you as we get ready to start our second unit of inquriy!

Congratulations Indiana!  We are so proud of you!  Have a wonderful weekend!

Best always!
Miss Dahl
