Catching Up

We just realized we're really out of date on our blog!  Last week was quite busy!

We had our first principals test last Wednesday.  There was only one standard that we were not proficient on.  That standard is estimation and rounding.

Last Thursday, Ms. Dahl found out some sad news. Her Grandma had gotten a lot sicker.  We had a sub for the last half hour of the day.  On Friday, Ms. Dahl told us her Grandmother had passed away and that she would need to travel to Indiana to be with her family.

Tuesday, we had a new student join our class.  His name is Deon'dre!  He came to us from another school in Washington DC.  He likes math and science.  Outside of school he enjoys going to the playground and doing a fundraiser with his friend.  He is trying to raise money for the homeless.  He is 9 1/2 years old

Yesterday we were very good for Ms. Baker and we worked on our stories.  At the end of the day we had cookies and a dance party!  She wanted to reward us for our good behavior while Ms. Dahl was away.  We were allowed to wear orange to show support for students who are being bullied.

Today Ms. Dahl returned!  Two of our classmates are absent today.  We learned that we can more stuff with estimation than we thought before.  We know that estimation is used in our real lives. Imagine if you didn't estimate and went to the store - you might not know how much you were going to spend.  Today Ms. Baker helped us with independent reading while Ms. Dahl did Deon'dre's Fountas and Pinnell test.  Today TWO people had their desks dumped over!  It was a totally random desk inspection!

Today there is a volleyball game after school (good luck Taylor!) and the flag football game was cancelled.
